TPS62122 Evaluation Module

The TPS62122EVM-586 is a fully assembled and tested platform for evaluating the operation and performance of the TPS62122 converter. The TPS62122EVM-586 has an input voltage range from 2.0 V up to 15 V, and the output voltage is adjustable with an external feedback divider network in the range of 1.2 V to 5.5 V. The maximum output current of the EVM circuit is 75 mA. The TPS62122 is a high-efficiency, synchronous step-down, dc-dc converter optimized for low-power applications. The wide operating input voltage range of 2 V to 15 V supports energy harvesting and battery-powered as well 9-V or 12-V line-powered applications.

"Energy Harvesting (EH) also known as Energy scavenging is the use of ambient energy to provide electrical power for small electronic and electrical devices.
An Energy Harvesting System consists of an Energy Harvester Module and a processor/transmitter block. The Energy Harvester module captures milli-watts of energy from light, vibration, thermal or biological sources. A possible source of energy also comes from RF such as emitted from cell phone towers. The power is then conditioned and stored within a battery, an efficient quick charging capacitor or one of the newly developed thin film batteries. The system is then triggered at the required intervals to take a sensor reading, through a low power system. This data is then processed and transmitted to the base station. CC2520DK CC2520 Development Kit

The CC2520 Development Kit includes hardware and software that allows quick testing of the CC2520 RF performance and offers a complete platform for development of advanced prototype RF systems and for evaluation of the CC2520 right out of the box. The kit can be used for range testing using the pre-programmed PER tester running on the MSP430F2618.

Use SmartRF® Studio to perform RF measurements. The radio can be easily configured to measure sensitivity, output power and other RF parameters. eZ430-RF2500-SEH Solar Energy Harvesting Development Tool

The eZ430-RF2500-SEH is a complete Solar Energy Harvesting development kit to help create a
perpetually powered wireless sensor network based on the ultra-low-power MSP430 microcontroller.
The Solar Energy Harvesting module includes a high-efficiency solar (2.25 in x 2.25 in) panel optimized for
operating indoors under low-intensity florescent lights, which provides enough power to run a wireless
sensor application with no additional batteries. Inputs are also available for external energy harvesters
such as thermal, piezoelectric, or another solar panel.
The system also manages and stores additional energy in a pair of thin-film rechargeable EnerChips
which are capable of delivering enough power for 400+ transmissions. The EnerChips act as an energy

interface that allows for real-time, in-system debugging and programming for the MSP430, and it is also
the interface to transfer data to a PC from the wireless system.
The integrated temperature and RF signal strength indicators can be used to monitor the environment,
and many external sensors can be used to collect additional data.

The LTC3534EDHC operates with a 2.4V to 7V input voltage range and VOUT range from 1.8V to 7V. The demonstration board has been designed to operate with VIN from 3.6V to 6.4V and VOUT is set to 5.0V with an output current up to 500mA.

BOARD BATTERY CHARGER SOLAR PWR
 Demonstration Circuit 1568A is a 2A Monolithic Multi-Chemistry battery charger for solar power applications  featuring the LT3652EDD. The LT3652 is a complete  mid-power Li-Ion battery charger that can operate   
over a wide input voltage range. The charger employs   a 3.3V float voltage feedback reference that allows the   battery float voltage to be adjusted up to 14.4V. R10  and R11, in the demonstration circuit, set the float  resistor divider. The charger is a CC/CV charger with a
maximum charge current of 2A. A precondition feature trickle charges a low-voltage battery, and bad battery detection provides a signal if the battery doesnt respond to preconditioning.

Energy Harvesting Solution

"Energy harvesting (also known as power harvesting or energy scavenging) is the process by which energy is derived from external sources (e.g., solar power, thermal energy, wind energy, salinity gradients, and kinetic energy), captured, and stored for small, wireless autonomous devices, like those used in wearable electronics and wireless sensor networks.

Energy harvesters provide a very small amount of power for low-energy electronics. While the input fuel to some large-scale generation costs money (oil, coal, etc.), the energy source for energy harvesters is present as ambient background and is free. For example, temperature gradients exist from the operation of a combustion engine and in urban areas, there is a large amount of electromagnetic energy in the environment because of radio and television broadcasting" wikipedia
